ree

When your partner asked you to be together forever, your first thought was excitement but then when the planning started, you realized the day will be all about you and that photographs are apart of it as you will want to have physical memories of the day.

Are these your thoughts when you here photographs

  • "i'm not pretty enough"

  • "i'm awkward in front of the camera"

  • "i'm not skinny enough"

  • "general low self confidence for being different as people can be cruel"

So here are 5 Tips to give you confidence on your wedding day

1)  Makeup and Hair

People believe that if they are a minimalistic bride, they don't need professional hair and makeup. This is incorrect, professional hair and makeup can give you so much confidence and the artists can make it natural and not over the top but perfect for the photography. If budget is tight then just do the bride only, its your day. A makeup trial is so important, do not skip this step as it gives you an idea of the look on your wedding day, and on a side note an engagement shoot is to also get a feel for your photographer that you feel more comfortable on your day.

2) Bridal Tips for a Flattering Jawline

Want to highlight your natural beauty and avoid the dreaded double chin in photos? Try this simple mirror exercise:

  • Stand tall with beautiful posture, shoulders relaxed (not stiff).

  • Gently push your head and neck forward, as if reaching toward the camera (Turtle coming out its shell).

  • Tilt your chin slightly down never back, that’s what causes a double chin.

  • Practice in front of mirror and push chin out as much as possible and play with moving your head to the left or right, it will feel weird but trust the process, double chin be gone and hello angled jaw line)

  • Play around in the mirror, adjusting until you find the angle where your face feels slim, elegant, and radiant.

Bridal Practice Ritual: Put on your veil or favorite lipstick, stand in front of the mirror, and try this a few times. Soon, finding your perfect angle will feel natural—so when the camera clicks, you’ll shine with confidence and grace.

3) Slimmer Body

  • Stand at a 45° angle to the camera ,this creates a natural, flattering shape.

  • Take the foot that is closest to the camera and rotate it to the camera.

  • Bring your chest and face only towards the camera

  • Turn your face a little more than your body , but keep those sparkling eyes on the lens.

  • Not loving your arms? Keep them relaxed and just a little off your sides by bending your elbows and place your hands softly on your thighs - instant slimming effect.

  • Think tall with beautiful posture—shoulders back, chin soft. This smooths lines and radiates confidence.

4) Self affirmations

What you tell yourself matters. If you repeat negative thoughts (“I’m ugly,” “I’m not photogenic”), you start believing them. But if you shift to positive self-talk, everything changes.

Try these affirmations:

  • “I am beautiful, radiant, and worthy of being celebrated exactly as I am.”

  • “My love and joy shine brighter than any insecurity.”

  • “Today is about love, connection, and happiness — not perfection.”

  • “I deserve to feel confident, cherished, and unforgettable on my wedding day.”

5) Practice at Home Ritual

Have you ever wondered why models, celebrities, and everyday people who don’t fit traditional beauty standards still photograph so well? Their secret: practice and confidence.

They know their angles, and with repetition, posing becomes natural.

Try this: put on your favorite playlist, stand in front of a mirror, and run through the steps above. Add your veil, a flowy dress, or even a bouquet. The more you practice, the less you’ll overthink — and the more you’ll glow with confidence.

Your most photogenic feature is your confidence. Confidence isn't a dress size its a mind set. Practice, embrace yourself, and let that inner glow shine. When you step in front of the camera with self-assurance, every photo captures the real you radiant, beautiful, and unapologetically confident.

These 5 tips won’t magically turn you into a confidence bombshell overnight — self-confidence is a journey. But every step helps.
